Literature Text

Dib had to use all of his concentration to keep from allowing his jaw to drop when he heard that. He kept his expression stoic, and remained silent for a moment.

He understood why the irken would come up with that kind of solution...but why did he have to? Why couldn't the alien have chosen something more pleasant like cutting off his finger or something?

He didn't want to kiss Zim because first off he'd never kissed anyone before and didn't plan on it, and second off..this was an alien. He didn't know what horrible and creepy things lurked on the irken's lips.

He glanced at them through his peripheral vision a small shudder of disgust raking through his body. He didn't want his lips anywhere near the irken let alone on Zim's lips.

When his statement was met with the disgusted silence Zim pulled his claws away from the human's shoulders, "Well if you don't want to prove yourself you can just leave," he said, shrugging as if the human's decision didn't matter to him either way.

He knew the challenge would force the action out of the human either way so he wouldn't have to worry about it. Even in the teen's broken state he knew he'd be stubborn..but he could use that to his advantage somehow.

The human was torn between taking the irken's advice and just giving in. Yes his stubborn side was playing against him because of the issued challenge but his disgust was of equal stature.

After a long moment of debating he gave a defeated sigh, he knew he needed to do this. He needed to be on the winning side of this, plus...this was for earth. He needed to end the planet's misery and he needed to help Zim to do that.

Dib forced himself to turn around, although slowly, to face the irken. He placed his hands hesitantly on the alien's shoulders..knowing that this was going to be awkward.

He took a deep breath and leaned down so that his lips were hovering inches from the irken's, and he could feel the alien's breath tickling lightly across his skin.

But he couldn't bring himself to do it.

He'd gotten this far and he was only inches away from proving himself but he couldn't force himself any further..this was wrong...so wrong and it went against all of his morals.

Well..actually he'd already pretty much shattered all of his morals with agreeing to work with Zim in the first place. Though was he really shattering his morals if he was still technically saving earth.

He gave a small annoyed sound..he didn't need to have this internal battle right now. He could worry about it later..right now he had to force himself prove his loyalty.

The action had been expected by the irken but when the human actually started to lean down he was still shocked. Would Dib actually do it? The alien felt his squeedily spooch start to beat too fast...he was inches away now..but not moving. Zim felt his lekku perk up curiously...had the human's life span expired?

He was about to say something when he heard the annoyed sound and then he understood. The human was having doubts...and that wasn't good. His lekku pinned back back and he let out an annoyed sound of his own.

He wouldn't let his prey escape..oh no the Dib-beast would be his and he would erase any stupid doubt the pig smelly had. He reached up and grabbed the front of the human's trench coat, pulling him none too kindly the rest of the way into the kiss.

The teen was shocked when he found that his lips were against the irken's without his conscious effort. It took him a moment or two to feel that the alien's hands were fisted in the front of his trench coat and holding him there. His face heated up in a deep crimson blush and he tried desperately to hide the fact that he was blushing before Zim noticed.

The alien pulled back from the kiss after a moment, a dark smirk coming to his lips when he saw the blush, "Your blood candies are showing Dib-beast," he said before releasing the human and going back over to plop down on the couch. He was pretty much done with the teen for that day..they could begin planning tomorrow.

Dib's blush only deepened when the irken noticed it and he tried to make it go away. It took him a moment or two to notice that the alien was no longer holding him in place and he glanced back over to the couch where the irken currently resided.

He took that as his sign to leave and he headed over to the door, resting his hand on the door handle before glancing back over at the alien briefly, "Should I come back tomorrow?" he asked.

"Yes..tomorrow the world begins it's downfall," Zim replied, an evil grin spreading across his lips as he flipped on the TV and began browsing through the channels again in much the same fahsion he'd been doing when the human had arrived.

The human nodded some, not really minding the evil grin much. He still figured that he'd be saving the earth in doing this so he decided he'd let the irken think he was doing this for other reasons.

Without another word Dib opened the door and started back home.
Well that took longer than I thought it would...the scene I mean not the time between chapters >D
